This year was my first year at SHOT in a decade and it was a good time. I hung out with friends I haven’t seen in a while, as well as friends I have seen more recently. There were interesting guns to be sure, and some of them will find their way into a post here and there. I saw some promising optics and support equipment, but nothing that I can’t live without. I am fortunate to have some real friends at these companies and they have not steered me wrong yet. Some preliminary Pistol-Training.com deals were struck and hopefully I can report on them in more detail over the next 6 months or so.
The show was definitely not as busy seeming to me as it was in years past, but my memories are all pre-covid. It was actually easy to get around and talk to most of the people I wanted to. I did miss out on seeing a couple of important people, but that was my fault for losing track of time. I only spent 2.5 days at the show, but I think that is the right amount for me. Finally, I got to meet a bunch of great people at Springfield Armory thanks to my amazing wife JAG. Having been behind the scenes with a number of gun companies over the years, I was very impressed with the crew at Springfield and I look forward to seeing what they come up with over the next few years.
